A Family Violence Intervention Order (FVIO) is a court order to protect a person, their children and their property from a family member, partner or ex-partner. Our intervention lawyers are experienced in defending and protecting both the applicant/protected person and the respondent in these intervention orders. Family Violence Intervention Orders are very serious and complicated – they often carry with it criminal charges which sometimes need be defended – thankfully our intervention lawyers have extensive areas in defending these complicated matters.

We understand that partners fight and sometimes things are taken out of context and we do not need the intervention order in place anymore. However, even when the protected person no longer wants or needs the intervention order in place, Police may proceed with the application despite the protected persons attempt to withdraw the intervention order.
